Salt Lake City had some Chryslers, but I never looked much into it. I just googled "Sirens in Salt Lake" when I was down there on a school trip and got some old newspaper articles about them.

Where did you hear this? Stroud is the size of a bottle cap.

Stroud never had a Chrysler mounted on that tower on the west end of town. It was built as a Civil Defense "observation deck" in the early 1950s, and in 1958 they installed a siren on it. Apparently sometime in the 80's, the old siren must have quit working so they replaced it with the ACA Penetrator that is still up there today.

Then what siren was mounted in 1958?

I know several communities in the state of Michigan used Chrysler sirens for many years. Grand Rapids had a few Chrysler sirens positioned around the city. Jackson had one on their Tower Building in the downtown area. It was replaced around 1980 with a Thunderbolt. I believe one of the communities in the Downriver area in Detroit, had a Chrysler siren well into the 1970s.

As for Jackson's Chrysler it was on the Court Building and was replaced by a T-bolt around 1982 or so. Here is a link with a picture of the siren in a story ran here a few years ago by the Jackson Cit-Pat.
