Can't you get permission to get any of those sirens?

I like the Larchmount Chronicle for being stright forward and

Sirens " So what has the L. A. City Council, F. D. , Emergency
management
done to Get the matching
funds and prcure NEW Federal Sirens

I suspect not a thing .

The County had a Siren Showcase for the unincorporated Miriena
Del Ray area- other than that , who knows .

In their defense, do they really need tsunami sirens?

Will anyone know what it means if a tsunami siren sounds an alarm?
(I'd probably record it with my camcorder thinking it was a test!)

It is likely they would need police officers to go to the beaches and VERBLALLY inform everyone - along with lifeguards and others at the beach informing everyone - along with all radio and TV stations.

And more than just the beaches would likely need to be evacuated.

Tsunami alerts ,why waste the cops time on the beach . Besides the
Mod. I hope, can be pre programmed for several languages after
the ALERT signal . English , Spanish , for shure, _ Tagalog and some
other Asian language will be necessary for Los Angeles and Long Beach.

That thing must be an SD-10 mounted on a metal plate shaped like a flower.

I thought the siren was gone, but now it appears it has a new decorative base.
Does that siren operate?

A Sentry 3V8 or 7V8 made to look like a giant daffodil. It was probably ordered from Sentry like this. Maybe someone ought to email Scott about this.

That's what one video showed of a system being tested in Thailand. After an alert tone, they repeated the voice message in Thai, English, German, and Mandarin. If you're a German or Chinese tourist, you'll be dead before they get to your language. It's more efficient to stick with a simple siren tone and have signs or brochures in tourist areas that tell what the sound means and what they should do.
