2 things I don't understand.

1: Why such TINY speaker wire for such powerful drivers? With that being said, they're 400w drivers so I'm assuming the amps put a constant 400w RMS to each of the speaker drivers at a time, correct?

2: First time I've seen inside a rotation box...but I would NOT want all of those wires just dangling there right at the rotation assembly. If one of those wire retention clips would have broken...

Right 400/400 That the cable Belden makes for all Whelen's rotation sirens, I sure it as to do with $$$... and on those clips they love them.. Whelen not one to change.... on all the 2800's and 2900's the cable is much bigger.. photo out of Peterson AFB siren

The reason people are so skeptical of people claiming to be experts on here, is because of kids claiming to own siren companies. This is why we asked you for proof. We aren't trying to be jerks, but we do try to qualify people, for the sake of accuracy. This board is very good about getting correct information out there to interested people, as well as correcting misinformation. People have come on here before spreading information that wasn't accurate. So yes, you did have something to prove, and you have done so. So again, thank you for sharing with us. It's been really cool so far. Quick question. Can a Whelen system be set up for single activation for different events? Like, can you activate the siren for a specific emergency and have it do tone and voice automatically? Or would you have to activate the tone first, then activate the prerecorded message after the warning tone stops?

Thanks, I hope you like... No you don't have to do tone first.. It's all in how you program the encoder, or the "String" of DTMF you send to the siren... The voice don't carry as far as siren tone... It's up to EMA and how they want it set up.. I like to send the Voice first on "This is only a Test" ... Then run a siren tone.. Most that I have set up use different Tone for different events..

I only ask because having to send multiple activation requests seems like it could cause problems. On the system we have here, only one activation was needed. There was a test function and a tornado function. Test voice and tone was recorded onto one chip, then tornado chip had tone and tornado voice message. This has since been abandoned and now is a tone only system, but I was curious how the other manufacturers did it. I just think that in an emergency, the people activating the system should only have to send out one command. Like having a function button labeled "Tornado" and have it do both tone and voice on it's own without having to push "Alert Tone", then after the tone push "Tornado Voice".

All sirens have a Voice ? You have to pay more for that.. What are they using for activation 2010,969,747 ? Most I have set up I run the strings 3 times, siren/voice, and so on.. I take yours is radio? one-way or two-way? That can be problem if your using "radio" for voice traffic too, some guy get on there when encoder sending the string and siren don't hear it...

It's a 2 way ASC system. Only one activation sequence needs to be sent since everything was on one prerecorded chip. Live voice was not used. It has been abandoned since people complained about the voice being unintelligible during a tornado warning in November. Now there are 2 prerecorded chips. One with a 90 second clip of an ASC T-121/128 for monthly testing and another 3 minute clip of a T-121/128 for tornado warnings. Live voice is available but only for non weather related emergencies.

o OK.. ASC. don't they have own FSK Format, I offer Internal memory 2MB with custom sounds in wav file format as standard Option. Expandable 8MB controller, That way you can do whatever you want...
