Technically speaking yes, anything before the -SRNB is an SRN, but for whatever reason people tend to call the older model with the non-exponential cone a DC. 2001-SRN refers the head, 2001-DC refers to if it's battery only (i.e no AC/DC rectifier), and 2001-AC refers to AC only (no battery box, just rectifier and FC).

So if you have an -SRNB that runs off of battery only, its "full name" would be 2001-SRNB-DC.

Someone feel free to correct me if I'm off on my facts.
Thou art correct, sire.

AC-only: 2001-SRN (or SRNB or 130) + 2001-TR (transformer/rectifier) + FC
DC: 2001-SRN (or SRNB or 130) + Battery Cabinet + DCFCTB

It's more than likely a second generation 2001 (2001-AC/DC) with a new horn.

It's not it's got the same stater that the SRN & SRN*B have. Look at the pictures again.

Who ever said that the stator cones weren't replaced with the horn? They're bolt-on, I believe.

I can assure you the horns were never replaced. All of the sirens have, and have always had the one piece horn.

Maybe the motor cover came off and hey replaced it with one from a second generation 2001 because it was cheaper.

On all 17 sirens? I doubt it. That 2001 came off the production line in 1994 looking exactly like it does today.

I was talking about one siren. Didn't know that all 14 were like that. It makes since that they are very early 2001-SRNs then.

Ah, ok. Michigan City, IN has the same style 2001s. I'll see if I can dig up some pictures.
