Typically removals from plants like this have to go through their resource recovery program. Additionally they are removed by pulling the entire pole and severely damaged in the process. To remove them for reuse drives the cost way up.

You can remove the pole and all without damaging them. But when a customer wants hundreds of sirens removed for the lowest price possible the pole is pulled and processed without regard to preserving the equipment.

Installation of 39 new siren sites and two repeater locations completed. Control points, which will be CompuLert NEXGen, and final testing remains.

Where are all the old sirens going? If that information cannot be given, that's fine.

Call the power company and ask.
When I got my pile of new-old-stock siren parts from Pennsylvania Power and Light the guy I got the stuff from was in charge of
reselling material/property from the power company to try to recover some of the cost that went into the property. He resold all kinds
of stuff. He told me that he even had to find buyers for huge transformers.
I asked him what was happening to the old sirens they were removing and he said that they are cutting the poles and letting them fall.
I don't know if it was the company that was installing the new sirens or who it was. I didn't ask because that was in Pennsylvania
and I'm in Texas. If you could find out who was removing these Nine Mile system sirens you might be able to get one from whoever
is removing them. Even if they are cutting the poles and dropping them, with thunderbolts they would really have to land the wrong
way to completely destroy one.

Thanks Mr. Green. I will try to find out soon, because I'm trying to get our EMA to get these sirens; I think that getting new sirens would be too much $$$ for purchasing and installation, along with buying batteries every so often (every 3 months, IIRC). I'll see what I can do; at the very least I may get a single phase 1003.
I wonder; when is Ginna and Fitzpatrick supposed to upgrade? Or did they already?

Please excuse the double post, but I contacted ANS today and got a hold of someone. They have me the Exelon person to talk to about the Thunderbolts. I'll be giving some updates as to what's happening hopefully by later tomorrow.
On a side note, is it just Thunderbolts that are going down? I could've sworn that they had P-15/10s amongst other sirens, but that could be Ginna or Fitzpatrick I'm thinking of...
