508s/Eclipse 8s or 16V1T-Bs if it must mechanical. Never heard a 508 in person, but the 16Vs south of here can be heard on the base sometimes. Good sirens. IMO if the drivers in the Whelens are in good nick and controllers are screwed Id rather see front panel upgrades on those guys.

I would also be concerned about 4 rotators covering that large of an area we generally consider the 16V1T-B a 1 mile siren and it is 10 HP ish more than the rotating units lower frequency at 460Hzs and 1DB (which is considerable) larger.. Ive seen a few maps from various other folks throw out distances of 12500 feet for 6HP rotators and have the DB level at 40 - 50 when we map we consider siren fade out to occur at 65 - 70 Dbs and that is where we stop the radius. Now I have a 40V2T on a 60 foot class 2 pole heard 8 miles away once on a good day and I have a 7V8 - AC heard 3 miles quite regularly but when the wind is howling I wont bet my rep on those numbers. 16V1T-B or 20V2T are 1 mile sirens 40V2T is about 1.5 - 1.6ish... My map shows 5 16V1T-Bs to cover the area at 95% wit a bit of overlap...I attached a sample map its public record anyhow....Very nice part of the state....

that would be a good system, except include the southwest corner of town. currently there aren't any sirens in range where the two north east most sirens in your map are. can't see any from 94 I don't think but Kmart 3016 or airport 2012 are closest

Hi, Everyone
I have an update from the city. The city council voted on going with six Federal Signal 508 Siren at the cost of 74,475. The 508 Siren will moved to new locations once Federal Signal gets done with their sound study for the city.
