Re: Chrysler Siren info and introduction

One turned up recently in rural Washington and was bought by a siren collector for restoration, but I have no idea which one it was, or if it was definitely a Seattle Chrysler
I think that siren was bought recently by one of our members, Turbopropilot. He is going to have it shipped to OKC and he is going to restore it.

I have never seen the one at the park. But I know that thing is there. Portland's chryslers were all auctioned off to private bidders and the engine was most likely thrown into their car while the rest of the siren just sat in their yard and deteriorated or something. I asked the ridge about removing theirs and they said they didn't want to part with it. They didn't want it running but they didn't want to part with it either. The chryslers in spokane met the same end. Although last I heard NONE of them stand. Spokane also had a variety of other sirens like thunderbolts but they also were removed. (3 of which got another service term before being completely removed.) Sadly one of the chryslers in spokane was actually removed rather recently. http://victorysiren.com/x/photo-pages/c ... -37-sm.htm

If they did: probably because some of us humans would rather throw out nice historical things because, in their minds they are "in the way" rather than learn the lessons and share the stories these sirens can tell.

Most likely that they were taking up too much space or there was no place to put them.

The MOST likely part... They were auctioned off. If not they were scrapped... That's sometimes happens here in the PNW...

I dunno. You know I will call spokane and see if public works still has them… But I highly doubt it.
