Yes I painted the siren. It's Summit racing yellow acrylic urethane (automotive paint).

I take it that the utility provider in Upson county doesn't require the disconnect before the meter?

No, after the meter. I've never seen a disconnect on the line side of a meter around here.

Having a meter is a new experience for this former Norman Thunderbolt. When it was in service in Oklahoma, there wasn't a meter on either side of the disconnect. The line went directly from the pole, to the weather head, through the disconnect, to the RCM.

Well they make us put meter bases on them, but then they don't install a meter, just a jumper plate.

The rest of the sirens in the county don't have meters on them, only the Thunderbolts for some reason.

Super installation! Thanks for the photos.

To date, Norman, Oklahoma got a state of the art Whelen system; four former Norman Thunderbolts were refurbished to "like new" and installed in Georgia; one former Norman T-128 went to a small town in north Texas; and five former Norman Thunderbolts went to enthusiasts. Not to mention the other bits and pieces.

What a great story!

I can account for three enthusiasts, Tyler, you, and me, but can't figure out who the others are.

McClain County has also acquired the remainder of the sirens and Washington Fire Department is overseeing the installs. Washington has three, I believe Cole and Dibble have two. I'm not 100% on that though.

Thanks for the fill-in on the southern Oklahoma sirens. I knew it was in the works, but didn't have any hard information.

The other two enthusiasts are: mixerbd699 and mustang07

What is the port ratio of this siren?
