Then it is probably from the earlier part of the 60's. A county to the SW of me has some ones from '62 that have no holes in the cover.

It will be interesting to see what they have, if they have more than the two I've seen. I'm assuming they were probably controlled from a single panel somewhere and then via leased lines; I hope, if I am even allowed to get one of these things, that they have the panel to go with it.

Hopefully this all goes through. I would be happy to take them both off the city's hands, right now they're little more than scrap value to them, so..........

I would say a radio receiver is what triggered them, A local county near me had 28 Thunderbolts until 1989 when they were sold off to a neighboring county (even though half of one still remains), and every test day, a police official would go into the control room of the county police HQ (where the sirens were controlled from), and send out a signal to radio receivers on the sirens for them to go off.

Try going to West Shore Services. They have lots of sirens there, including Thunderbolts. You may find one you like there.
I am in Ms. Scott's classroom right now. It's 12:45 PM.

Oh god no they will charge you a arm and a leg for anything.
My knowledge excels on the Federal Thunderbolt siren and SiraTone EOWS sirens. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That and the cost to drive from NH to MI is a little much with fuel near 3.75/gal!

If you do not mind me asking, Where is this thunderbolt and what's left one in NH?

I'd rather wait until I get an answer next week from the city before I announce them. Don't mean to be selfish, but the last thing I want is everyone calling and emailing. TBolts don't show up around here often.

But as far as I kniw, there is only one complete unit in NH.

Like I said man you don't need the control boxes if you want to hear it.
Own and love a Thunderbolt 1000 and a Model 5.

I have many hobbies and interests. And I love them all.

I didn't know sirens could run without control boxes.
