The Michigan Civil Defense Museum has advertisements I'm certain are from 1982 or thereabouts with the WS-2000 featured.

Thanks for the tip, I thought they were older but wasn't sure how old. Where's the 1982 date, though? The only one with the that seems to have a date and the WS2000 has 1985 printed on it.

There isn't actually a date, but my belief is based on the design of the advertisements (one of my other interests is graphic design, particularly its evolution, and to me the look of the two posters featuring the strobe light in the logo screams early 80s).
