Hallelujah, I was actually mistaken. The 10V is still up. Must have been an optical illusion yesterday. Now I gotta convince them to make it a noon or 6PM whistle.

Doubt they will change their policies. A change like that will probably take a motion at a board meeting and need approval. Sounds like that Allertor has been on its way out for quite a while with all the problems you stated.

I've heard that the Allertor was discontinued because the horn froze in the winter. That is most likely why the P-10 was designed to replace the Allertor in 1980.

It isn't surprising. The Allertor has a drain hole in the bottom that could easily get clogged. After that it is basically a gigantic water catch.

I believe that is true. That one's horn fell of in an ice storm about 7 or 8 years ago. The rotator broke too, and always faced east after that ice storm.
