I shared a PDF made by ATI on the chatroom last night. It compares an Omni-Directional Siren from Federal Signal to an ATI siren. Basically they said Federal Signal was a terrible siren and ATI sirens were great.

Great as PA's. SF's ATI system have some pretty good voice quality, but that's it. As sirens, not so much although I would imagine that their rotating sirens probably throw sound for a good distance in alert at the current 575 Hz pitch they use. They have been sued multiple times for bad performance and have an overall bad rep. Of course they will make their sirens look good/the best, and so does Whelen, Federal Signal, Sentry, etc. because they're trying to make a sale, but those brands have been respected as being reliable and effective.

Orange drivers?

Are you talking about the Modulator pod color, or the driver itself?

I was hoping to get a response back from the local Whelen distributor. Nothing yet which disappoints me. Whelen would be an ideal siren to install in Windsor especially on the U of W campus. Seeing how good the WPS-2905 works at Western University in London, Ontario I would expect it to work just as well at the U of W if one was installed.

ATI has tried to pull a lot of crap that discredits other companies, the most recent (we know of) was an ATI representative that tried to buy an ASC iForce from a former board member with the possible intent of reverse engineering it to produce a new "ATI" product. (I say "possible" because it wasn't ever 100% confirmed from what I remember but we all know that's what the intent was..) Nashville's ATI's didn't last but a decade or so, they just got a new system of Federals. SF seems to not be too happy with theirs, either. The only town I've seen that hasn't really shown any grief is Owasso, Oklahoma; they have had theirs a little while and seem to do just fine. (Del City doesn't give a R/A about their sirens in the first place so I wouldn't go for either side there.)

However, as other users have stated, they seem to be great for a PA system. Not much for a siren tone or city grade system though. If I were you I'd definitely keep trying for Whelen. Bryan might even be able to help you out with that.

As far as the best electronic sirens for voice is the I force from ASC, but it is expensive. So they came out with the ATI/Federal look alike
