Huh. Thank you for sharing. I've lived and worked in Richardson for the last year and a half. I need to keep my eyes open as I did not know so many of the old units are still standing. I guess I hadn't been paying much attention.

Nice! Me too...My office is at Frankford and Waterview. Well within indoor coverage of a couple DSA's and a Mod at UTD.

Even if it is still active, I doubt you would hear it. If you click here then zoom in, you'll see the blower doesn't appear to be connected to the pipe. :think:

That siren at the old fire station at plano and collins has had the blower pipe like that for a VERY long time.
I doubt if that siren is still operational. That station is no longer operational.
I wouldn't go as far to say all of them have remained in their current position. I pass by the sirens at fire stations 4 and 47 at least once a month and have noticed them both change directions in the past year. Wind is the only explanation I can figure
That bad wind storm last october moved station 48s horn. It had been in the same position since they put the new sirens in.
