I know that the city has had a lot of financial problems in recent years. They went bankrupt a few years ago, and I believe this even created problems for the police department, and crime seems to be a real issue there.
Resident of a county with big a mixture of sirens, but in the process of being replaced. :(

Much of the D's trouble can be attributed to decades of corruption under the party starting with that letter.

My mom went to college out there...she told me that was a night called "hell night" and people would burn down buildings for no reason. Really sad and shady situation there.
Were all the thunderbolts in Detroit 1000s? I've never seen a 1000T outside of the offset in Sterling Heights.

It's called Devil's Night, the night before Halloween. Yes, for a time (mid 80's thru the 90's) it was total arson mayhem on Devil's Night. Not so much anymore over the past few years after enough citizens got fed up with the fires and patrol on Devil's Night. Detroit still has a huge arson problem though. DFD probably has the busiest fire houses in the country.

A lot of the craziness can be attributed to poverty and the old saying "idle hands are the workshop of the Devil".

Not everything is bad in Detroit, one can have a cool time there. Like any big city got to know where to play and where to stay away.

Check out Youtube there is some vids of Detroit T-bolts and comments where they are located.

There is one 1000T in Detroit on Lessenger School. To my knowledge, the rest are/were 1000s. And there were a few Thunderbeams left too.

I really try to stay away from politics on this board but as a life long resident of Michigan pushing 6 decades I can tell you there isn't a dimes difference in the corruption games played by both "letters" in Michigan.
