Florence: They have a ACA Allertor and several Penetrators

Birmingham: They used to have Thunderbolts but are phasing out of sirens.

Might as well through up my questions and see if anyone has answers.

Chilton County:

They have a system of finback Vortexes, 2809s, and 2909s. I don't really have any information about the system and don't have anyone to contact about it. The Vortexes seem like they haven't activated in a long time, but at the same time, Whelen's have the "home" position that might be programmed. I would love to know when they test.

As far as I know Chilton County's system is still active and tested on the first Wednesday of every month at 10:00 AM. They debated the idea of ending the use of the system, but it appears that their survey showed that the county's residents didn't like that. They have at least 20 sirens with the majority being the finned Vortexes followed by a number of 2809's and at least two 2805's in Clanton and a lone Hornet at Midway Church of Christ. I believe the 2909 replaced a 2809. It has an older style type III cabinet. The installation probably got zapped by lightning, and the county just gutted the cabinet and replaced the whole head instead of individual drivers.

One last thing, do you know if the Vortexes have a home position set or something? I haven’t really seen them in different positions before.

I think they are all sitting in the home position. Pretty much every Vortex and 4004 I've seen in person on a two way capable system were at the home position from silent testing.
