Nah, I have seen too many people use red on Model 2's. I think that you should paint it a nice Gold color. That would be pretty awesome.

What would you all think of a 2 in dark green?

Actually I think that would look good on it too. Reminds me of Hawaii's sirens.

Red, Blue, and Gold would be nice.

Soon I may be ordering new parts to get this guy operational again. I am told I need brushes, an armature, and a field for the siren. I have inquired to Federal about these parts.
Soon, I may also repaint and get decals for the housing. Does anyone know where I can get the proper decals for a Model 2? I've still yet to decide the colour of the siren.

I made some progress on the 2 this weekend:
Friday night I put the housing in evapo-rust (google it) to remove and neutralize some of the rust. After a long day trip with my girlfriend yesterday, I took the housing components out of the ER and washed any remaining chemicals off. I spent all day today sanding the housing and straightening out any dents, and I painted it. I used hunter green on the shroud. The paint I used is Valspar that is a paint and primer rated for indoor and outdoor use. I don't know if it is good or bad paint, but I will most likely store the siren inside so I am not too concerned. I do not have any proper pictures save for this shoddy and sideways picture of the housing after all was said and done. I will take more pictures tomorrow in sunlight.
