Where have you seen an Australian siren in America?
I've seen a couple model 7s, a presumed cyclone, and new Whelens (Vortexes I believe) are being installed every year.
And hey, the 888 was based off of the Model 2, so that technically counts as an American siren. And there's like 500 of those.
But you said you've seen Australian sirens in America.
Sorry, read your post wrong. Theres a 15D in TN. that's all I can think of now.

Oh, cool! Where is it?
Sirens may not be sexy, but they sure work.

I'll have to ask Tristan. He's the one who found it. It was installed in 2015.

I wouldn't just slap "grifco" on there. It appears to have a chopper around the same size as a Model 7 and it also appears to have a support bar coming from the stator assembly going up into the shroud. It might be a Model 7 with a custom shroud. (Don't say that it's unreasonable for a siren to get shipped all the way there. I've seen several examples of sirens from Australia in America and vice versa.)

Late to the party, these are the American sirens we have:

Whelen Vortexes
Whelen 2900's
Sterling Little Giants
Fedelcode Model 2
Now-removed Fedelcode Model 5/7's (We were a huge buyer of Fedelcode products during the 40's)
Federal Signal Model 2 (Not a Grifco 888, an actual model 2.)
Sentry 16v1T-B's (2 of them, at a refinery)
Siren Enthusiast from Australia since 2012. Designer of the KEYTROL-K4 Siren Controller.

Late but oh well.
It’s a Grifco Model 888 and the top louvre was missing, in 2011 they rebuilt the station and built a new custom shroud. That’s why it looks so weird.

Hi all, does anybody know what this siren is? Looks like a model 5/7 but with long legs?

I am an Australian siren fan and the picture shown in your post was an Australian Grifco 888 siren with a long leg.

The picture below was a possible sonnenberg SES 1200 siren (POSSIBLY) in Oakey, QLD, Australia. It was used to warn for Bushfires.
