With how many active cold war era sirens there are in the US, it wouldn't surprise me if many Canadian towns did the same and still use CLMs, for fires especially.

There's 2 active 20/24 port CLMs within an hour of me, they're both used for fire calls. A couple of other towns around here also used non-rotational CLMs for fire calls, but they've either been put on display or suffered a motor failure.
