They live on Delmar Avenue, just north of the Clara E. Coleman school. I'm going to use Windows Live maps to take another look at the area...sirens tend to be visible on Bird's Eye view if they are big enough.

There's three Tbolts in Stamford that I know of: one on Atlantic Street, one on a school on Rogers Street, and another on Newfield Ave. None are active.
There's one in Greenwich on North Street that's just rotting off the pole. The motor and blower are gone, which you can see because the blower box cover is also gone.
There's one on Fairfield Avenue (Rte 130) in Bridgeport. This may be the one mentioned as being on the I-95 loop.
There's a EOWS 1212 in Norwalk at a school near Calf Pasture Beach and two 612s in Fairfield used for floods.
There's a Whelen electronic sitting all on its lonesome between I-95 and railroad tracks between Exits 17 and 18 on the north side.

Only a fire station built in..say...craftsman style or something would have a pergola on it. I meant cupola, which is much more likely to be sitting on top of a New England fire station.
I was guessing that perhaps the station was built by a Frank Lloyd Wright admirer, so a pergola on the roof would not be out of order. Cupolas do make better siren shelters, but it's not always an attractive installation. Its hard to see, but in this building, which is the Wallowa County courthouse in Enterprise, Oregon, the cupola contains not a bell but a badly-painted Model 5:

OK, about Glen Rock: I went to *THE* Siren Archive:
http://www.jmarcoz.com/sirens/sirenarch ... #newjersey
and it seems that they have 3 Models 5's there:

Now, it could be that they also have an electronic siren, or it was one in a nearby town.
Feel free to check out that site & add your pictures. I sent some to them.

I have viewed that site quite a bit and I recently sent them my picture of the Windsor Whelen. I doubt that they put it up...

Well, he gets buried in pictures, as well as other things to do with his job, so you will need to wait.

Ok, about those Thunderbolts in Hartford...can anyone tell me exactly where they are? I may have passed them hundreds of times and never known it!

If it was electronic it had to be our whelens, you're about 2000 feet from one in my town on Maple Avenue...I know they were tested October 10th, if you were down then?

It was last year some time...you know, it was probably a Model 2, since 3t22 said they have a fast windup...could a 2 windup be mistaken for a Whelen at all?
