I forgot about Mars sirens, but that's what the letters seem to spell. This is even rarer than an old Federal. My guess is that it was built in the 1930's. I suspect now that Coyoteunknown's photo is a single-headed Mars siren, since both photos show straight, uncovered stators. Modulator Master's photo is definitely a Federal, because of the one piece stator/horn that flares out. This is basically a Lion with a cover.

All right, the consensus is that siren #1 is a Mars siren, and the evidence strongly supports it. If I get a chance, I'll try to contact someone at the fire station in Mount Auburn, see if they know anything about it, because it would be interesting to know more.
