The Siren Board

I'm not trying to bag on Ian (mr_thunderbolt1003) but I have questioned him about his "siren collection". I wanna see if he is a deceiver or not. Is he lying or is he being honest? I like being Ian's friend, but I strongly dislike friends who are dishonest and lie to try to impress people. He has claimed that he owns 32 Thunderbolts, is tha teven possible for anyone? He has a photo of his "collection", but I have seen those same photos on another man's Photobucket album. When I asked Ian about this, he said that the photo's belonged to him (Ian). Then I asked him to show me on his Photobucket album. Ian said they got "deleted" and that he needed to "re-upload them". There is no way his photo's could get deleted unless if it was copyright infringement. I do believe he owns sirens, but no where near the description and criteria he puts it in. One time I told him I have a small chance of getting a retired P-50 from my father's military base. At first he is very amazed and covetant, but then he goes off saying "Well, one city is giving me FOUR P-50's and a P-10, how's THAT for ya?". That offended me in two ways. He is rubbing it in my face and it strongly seems that it's a lie. Sorry about this long comment, but you tell me your opinion in this situation, I don't like deceivers and I REALLY don't like liers.

Elsewhere, on his myspace I think, he says that his farm is over 9000 acres and his youtube profile has some stuff related to his farm. It seems like an enormous operation, and I believe it almost 100%. He also has a video (on myspace) of a Hurricane with a broken rotator that he says is his....on the one hand, that's pretty unbelieveable (it's a Hurricane, after all!) but the fact that there just aren't that many other Hurricanes out there, the fact that I've never seen the video elsewhere, and the fact that the rotator is broken (No offense towards your siren servicing skills Ian...) make it a little more likely that the Hurricane is really his. As for everything else...9000 acres is a lot of land, which could fit a lot of sirens, I'll admit that. But I too would like more pictures before I finally believe it all.

Ian, if you've got time to come on this forum fairly often, then be my estimation you should have time to upload siren pictures to show us. If I had as many sirens as you claim to have, I'd be rushing to get the pictures up as fast as possible. Then again, I don't run a huge farm, so I really have no idea what it's like...

It could have been taken in Garland TX before they came down, you know........

Actually, those are compression artifacts caused by the JPEG algorithm when it compresses the file into a smaller format (since pixels are square, and the least amount of space is taken up in a grid coordinate, you get the discolored pixels around a contrasting line that is diagonal). Photoshop's images have a different look.

What thunderbolt1003 is saying seems to make since to me. Ian is a good friend of mine but for some reason, he has been acting pretty strange and when I heard his siren recordings while I was talking to him, I listened very carefully and it seemed to me that the siren soundings was actually coming from YouTube videos. I say that because I remembered how some of the siren videos on YouTube sounded just like what I was pointing out. Ian keeps saying that its his sounding. I don't want to say he is a lier but I want proof from him that if he is a good friend of ours, then he has to start acting like one.

Good point, but I just looked at a picture of the Garland Hurricane and its location (surrounding buildings, etc.) don't match up with what I saw in the video.

Yes, I found out that it was a resizing glitch, since its in .jpg format. But I have had personal experiences with Ian that just didn't make sense. One time, we were in a conference with some of the members from this Siren Board on Yahoo Messenger. Almost all of us have possesion of desktop microphones. He claims he owns a Gents' siren. He "supposively" sounded the siren and had it over the mic for us to hear, but there was a very big problem there. The sound of the siren sounded exactly like the video of a Gents' siren from YouTuber "riggerparish". I listen to those vids often and even have one of them on my YouTube favorites. He didn't sound the siren, it was a YouTube video. And I took conceptual physics class a few years ago. The Gents' siren was designed and built in Europe during the time of WWII. The power output in Europe differs than that in the U.S. (learned this in physics). In Europe, they use a constant flow of electricity when in the United States, they pulse the flow of electricity. Thus, the Gents' cannot be powered in the U.S. with a converter for the power outlet.

Mr Thunderbolt 1003 also gave me a recording of "his" Hurricane MKII but it was audio from Nelso90's Hurricane MKII. Every recording he's sent me is a YouTube one that he CLAIMS is his own.

I believe I may have seen that video on Veoh once before, but it wasn't by Ian. On the other hand, it can be a photo and the story of the broken rotator could be an excuse. For some reason the audio of the video sounds like the audio from some of Archon's videos. I may be wrong however. Ian may have a big 9000 acre farm, but if that's the case, then he needs to spend the money on keeping the farm's conditon up, not to buy sirens. There is no way he can buy that many sirens and still have the electricity and everything going for something that big. His money has to go to bills. Say what you want, "Well it may be different for Ian since he's a farmer" you may say, or you may say something else around there. But nothing is different for Ian, this is America and the same thing goes for everyone living in it. Ian gets paid around $3-4 million anually, and with electricity, water, machinary, food (for him and his animals), crops growing (seeds and fertilizers), and most of all, gas for his tractors and all that, I can guaranteee that almost all of that money will be going to that, he may have spending money left. I never said that Ian didn't own sirens, I said that most likely he only owns less than five or so sirens. Plus don't forget how much he would have to pay for the wiring and system configuration of his sirens. He may get some of that done for free since he knows alot of siratech and federal officers, but not all of those sirens. I have asked Ian to take pictures of himself next to his sirens, but he claims that he doesn't own a camera, he may or may not. He has a picture on MySpace of what he claims as his "collection fo Thunderbolt sirens". IF that's the case, then why does another guy (I'm not going to mention any names to get him involved in this) have those same photos online long before Ian had his? I believe Ian is infringing those photos, claiming that photo to be his. I asked him to prove it and he brings up "Those weeds in the photo are not native to the north". How can you even tell from the time of day and the angle of the photo? Those photos were not taken by Ian from his farm, they were taken by the man from a lot (either his or Federal Signal's). So there is by rebutal to your opinion CTsirenhunter (sorry, I do not know your real name).
