It stands for Emergency Outdoor Warning Siren 6 Speakers 12 Drivers.

You are correct!
I believe the 2t22A and 3t22A are three phase = 10 hp
2t22B and 3t22B are single phase = 7.5 hp.
3T has a damper in each of the two intake tubes.
When the damper closes, it suddenly silences the output of its rotor.
It really could be called 4T22 because you can have:
Alert = up to and remain at full speed - steady pitch
Attack = up to full speed for 6 seconds, then no power to motor so it descends for 6 seconds, then up to full speed...
Hi-Lo = full speed/steady pitch but dampers open and close alternately
-?- = full speed/steady pitch but both dampers open and close simultaneously
The most fascinating sound I ever heard was a 3t22 doing hi-low while its motor was speeding up and slowing down.

yeah on the 2t22 thing, it means: 2/3: # of signals, T: Dual tone, 22: # of cones.
