What a shame... Poor Thunderbolt. You should try to get a hold of that thunderbolt.

Did anybody isolate whether the problem was the siren itself or something in the control system? If it is the siren, is there a pattern for which subsystem(s) fail?

I called Oakland County EM office today, and left a message, I got a voicemail on my phone stating "that they are not replacing or turning off any sirens in the county', But since the 2001 is a new install, wonder why I was told that over the phone. I called back but had to left a message again.

Hey, isnt that the T-bolt that would have its blower on for like 10min after it shut down?? If it was, that was probably the coolest thing I had ever heard!

Not yet, the service technician is supposed to be here sometime late this week.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't FS replace the SRNB series with the 130 series?

On their site, it appears that they did, but as with Federal Signal in general, they probably still make the 2001 SRN-B on some orders, though they don't have it in their products-list anymore.

The same situation with the EOWS 612, that was made until 2006 but disappeared from the literature in the 90's.

As stated in the Plymouth, MI thread, almost all of the 'older' (and in some cases, IMO, better sirens) are being replaced by 2001-130s. All of the Plymouth T-Bolts have been replaced, as well as the model 5 downtown (which was replaced 5-10 years ago by a 2001, and they recently 'updated' its controls according to the local newspaper, so that it would be more uniform with the new 2001's). And today in Livonia I drove past two siren locations that as of about a month ago were occupied by Whelen 3016's. Now two brand new 2001-130's are sitting there. And, as many know, all of the Detroit T-Bolts are being phased out and replaced with 2001-130's. This area, which was once mainly Thunderbolt land, is now turning into a 2001 haven.

So you can see it still activated this time, I will be going back to this location next test day, Hopefully it will still work then.
