The girlfriend has not found that out yet. There is no sirens in Brookfield. I looked all over. Unless there is a place you know that I don't. Only N. Brookfield and W.Brookfield. It is a shame she is not active anymore.

How there can be a hole that size in a steel horn like that amazes me.
Just to cut a hole like that with a torch would take some time.
It's not like those horns are flimsy sheetmetal. I can't even imagine
what would have caused that.
If I'm not mistaken, Adam Smith took some pics of that 1003 several years ago. He said if this is the same one, someone took a shot at it, trying to silence it their way and ended up blasting that hole in the horn.
Well do you know how many years ago that was that someone took a shot at it? If I had to guess it was a double barrel shotgun. Who would do such a thing.

That actually couple be what happened. At the Burns FD (where I recorded the 5 going off) the guys there told me they got threats of people going to shoot their siren all the time. People are so stupid.

Sadly in many communities the T-bolts and other warning sirens have less of a priority than a fresh supply of toilet paper in the porta-potty at the local walking trail.

The hole is the there because no politicians in that communtiy gave a tinker's dam to fix gapping hole in the horn when it first appeared. Probably another reverse 911 community LOL.
Hey I'd be really ticked if I was at the walking trail and had no TP for my bunghole though.

Sirens may be important, but so is TP!!!! :D

Does the town of Marion, Mass. still use their outdoor warning sirens? According to their Web site they supposedly have a few of them. They must use a coded signal system?

I wonder how it sounds with that hole?
Maybe it acts like a whistle
