The original 1003 5/6 stator will work, because they are the same as the ones in the 1960 1000Ts (aka the 4/5). Yes, the cap is the stator.
I refer to it as the cap because it makes more sense to me. But yeah if I were to get the other chopper, it wouldn't be attached to the armature as well.
