TMI is replacing all of their cats and dogs with T-128's. That process is about to start.

Peach Bottom will be after that. They will be replacing all of their T-bolts (and one or two 2001's, I think) with T-128's. That is supposed to happen next year, if I remember correctly.

Point Beach and Kewaunee share an EPZ (that's an emergency planning zone, for those who don't know the lingo). Their ACA museum pieces have been replaced with T-128's. But I did enjoy seeing operating P-50's, P-15's, P-10's, Allertors and Cyclones. However, nuclear plants are under pressure to replace sirens that can operate if the electrical grid goes down.

Farley is in the process of replacing it's three sirens and the current bunch of tone alert radios to cover the rest of the EPZ with ~87 Whelen 2909 sirens. ~40 of them will be in Houston County, ~7 will be in Henry county and the balance will be in Early County. System should go online next year sometime.

And all you folks in the Vidalia to Baxley GA area - Hatch Plant is installing ~80 Whelen 2909 sirens - 10 in Jeff Davis County, 4 in Tatnall County, ~30 in Toombs County and a the balance in Appling County. They are all pretty much up now - system should go online sometime late this year early next year.

I just have one small question

How often do they test the sirens for the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear power Plant in Maryland?
Cause i only heard it once.

Limerick has switched over to the new system of T-128's. They have also changed the test schedule. From now on they are only doing 30 second bursts except for June and Dec tests at which they will do a full 3 min

Exelon has begun installation of T-128s for the Peach Bottom system. As of June 25, the Thunderbolt on Route 1 in Darlington, Harford County, MD (south of the Conowingo Hydroelectric Dam), has a friend (sorry, wasn't able to photograph!). The Thunderbolt on Route 1 at Love Run Rd in Cecil County, MD (north of Conowingo) is still by itself. I know of one more Thunderbolt in that area, on McGlothlin Rd south of Route 1 in Cecil County, but I haven't had a chance to check it out, yet.

The Davis-Besse siren system in Ohio consists of 2001-SRNs to warn rural areas, 2001-130s to fill their gaps, and 2001-SRNBs in towns.

The old system, completely replaced, may have consisted of Thunderbolt 1000Ts and Model 5s in towns and cities, and Thunderbolt 1000Ts to warn rural areas. There were no gaps in the old system.

Got some tidbits to add.

Byron Exelon had a system of Penetrators and Banshees as mentioned, but I do recall seeing a Thunderbolt in Stillman Valley and I believe an Allertronic at the Byron Dragway, both of which are gone. I've been mapping out their sirens now and have found T-128s and T-135 AC/DCs, but there are still actually many Penetrators left (they make up about half of the system still, but is unknown whether they're single or dual tone.) What kind of surprised me though is that I haven't found a single P-50 or T-135 AC yet, which is weird since most other Exelon systems in Illinois do.

Clinton's system, like most other Exelon systems, is comprised of T-128s, T-135s, P-10/P-15s, and P-50/T-135 ACs. I am not familiar with their old system, though it appears they had a lot of Penetrators as well.

La Salle's system has T-128s, P-15s, and P-50s mainly with a few T-135 AC/DCs here and there. The old system was mainly Thunderbolt 1000's, Penetrators, and one or two Whelen 3016s.

Dresden's system is pretty much the same as Clinton's system, except in the past it was littered with Thunderbolts, plus some P-15s, STH-10s, and 2T22s. As a matter of fact, I used to live only a couple blocks from a Dresden 2T22 and that's how my interest of sirens started. Now the closest sirens to me are an Excel T-128 and an inactive STH-10 (former fire siren, not Dresden.)

This System of Whelen WPS-3016 is located in Burke County, Georgia. The system belongs to Vogtle Electric Generating Plant. There are 29 sirens in this system.
