To me, it looks like a ghetto-rigged Model 3. The motor and chopper is what makes me think that.

Doing a virtual siren hunt in Preble County and found this... Anyone know what it is?

There's also a 2001 right in the same area so I don't know if it's still in use.

The flared ends make me think it's a Federal Type B

I thought so too until I went down the alley on street view, it's actually a Sterling M-5 that appears to be dual tone.

Beat me too it! I was just about to say that it was a Sterling due to the flanges horns.

Hey, everyone. I'm new to sirens (and this forum). I'm not savvy, so not good at identifying sirens. I read somewhere that an installation on a "H" pole is rare. Any knowledgeable takers as to what this one is?

Sorry for the quality of the picture. This is a siren installed at the Deerfield Fire Department in Deerfield, Ohio, near the Berlin Resuvouir. It's a little rusty, but I assume it's in working order since the fire department is nicely maintained.

Thanks, Ziginox. Any guesses as to its age?

Hard to tell, but that's quite a bit of rust. Looks like an earlier one though. STH-10's were manufactured from 1955 to 2006. (I think)

Thanks, 4J25. Wow, that is a long time to be in production. Deerfield is kind of like the town where time stood still...so I wouldn't be surprised if this siren was an earlier one.
