The Siren Board

A day late, but certainly not a dollar short...a large Pennsylvania update today featuring sirens from Harrisburg northwest to south of State College. Most are from the Dave Fritz Files, along with a few of my own discoveries.

The North Carolina contributions above have also been added. Thanks!

The California and Washington contributions will be held back a bit longer, as I plan on doing updates for both maps fairly soon. I'll add them then.

Coming next - another North Carolina update, some Connecticut contributions I received about a week ago but couldn't get to until now, and possibly some more Virginia additions. Stay tuned...

Oh dear, I forgot about that one! I'll add it next time I update the PA map.

Another NC update tonight featuring sirens in the general Fayetteville region. Highlights include a Thunderbolt in the Gray's Creek area that appears to be held up solely by its own blower pipe, and a Banshee at a VFD with a very menacing-sounding name on the south side of Fayetteville.

Update to the Kentucky map: I just added all of Boone County plus a couple sirens in Ghent.

There's a STH-10 siren mounted on the roof of the Norfolk Southern Juniata Shop in Altoona, PA that isn't on your Pennsylvania map.

Apologies in advance for "derailing" the topic so to speak ( ), but are they seriously still using a turntable at the Altoona railyard? That is so awesome...you never see those much anymore, especially not still in use!

A lot of rail yards that have engine shops tend to have turn tables. The Inman Yard in Atlanta, GA has one as well.
