The Siren Board

Today, I saw a new T-128 in Carthage, at the fire station near the corner of Seymour Ave & Vine St where a Thunderbolt sits. Yes, this was originally supposed to be a roof mount, and it is connected to the electric with the power still turned off.

I am still curious as to why the local news media hasn't done a story about how messed up this is.

Also, it seems WLWT recently did a story about Codesphere (or whatever it's called) in wake of the recent events in Boston.

Schratt said at the last test, EMA could alert the entire county in four hours if needed.

That last sentence is perfect proof of why R-911 simply does not work for alerting a ton of people in a timely manner.

Drove by the T-128 on Blue Rock again tonight, and of course the power switch is still turned off. I guess it's time to email the EMA and find out what's going on. It's completely unacceptable to leave a siren hooked up to the power but turned off for several months.

Clermont County is indeed within the Cincinnati Metro Area.

I'm going to Tennessee for vacation this summer, and on my return I will be siren hunting in Cincinnati. I have a map of Hamilton's sirens printed out, but I was wondering if any of you know of or have a map with the locations and the siren model at each location. Any possible help will be appreciated.

Where in Clermont is that? It's interesting that they're putting up a refurbished P-15 instead of a shiny new T-128.

Just been wondering, are we ever going to have another meetup at Clayton's?

Also, FS Thunderbolt Man, I don't have a map, but most are either old sirens (Mostly T-Bolts, some SD-10s, a few Penetrator 10s and 15s, an STL-10, an STH-10, and lots of others) with replacements next to them. (T-128s) There are also lots of 2001s. (SRNs, an SRN*B, DCs) And on a final note, downtown should be expecting two E-Class sirens in the near ( ) future.

And to answer Urbanexplorer's question, to my belief it is because Hamilton County is donating some of their older sirens to surrounding counties. There are other refurbished P-15s scattered around the county, one of which is in Summerside that replaced a Model 5 and I have recorded it.
