No, it can't be, there are no electronic sirens in downtown Cincy, either. I know there's a Modulator up near the airport, and a couple near Newport, but none in downtown.

After watching and listening to the second video, I stand corrected: it's got to be a 2001 or a T-128. The windup of the louder siren, when it first starts up, is definately that of an electromechanic siren. If you notice, when the horn of the T-Bolt rotates around and faces the camera, it doesn't get very loud, because of the distance between the person filming and the siren itself. But the 2001 or T-128 is much louder, knocking out the fact that some think the T-Bolt is a 1000. You can definately tell that the T-Bolt being filmed is a 1000T.

Umm...no. I don't think you read my previous comment. The person said in the video description that both the sirens in the recording are Thunderbolts. The one shown is a single-toned 1000 and the one in the background is a dual toned 1000T. This recording was made in downtown Cincinnati which has absolutly no 2001s or T-128s. I know this to be factual since I have a map of the system, a set of pictures for each of the systems sirens and their locations as well as install dates and I actually know the guys who have been in charge of maintaining and installing the sirens since the first Thunderbolts were installed in 1952. A 2001 has a much more sharp, screechy, and quicker windup than the 1000 in the video and the T-128 sounds nothing like that. Do the research. For the love of God, do the research.

They're only sirens, OK? Get a life. Still sounds like a 2001 or a T-128 to me, as I've heard lots of T-Bolt 1000's before, and that one definately sounds like a 2001 or a T-128. But what do I know? I'm not jkvernon, official siren nut, with pictures, maps, dates of installations an' everything!!!! Whoo Hooo!

It sounds like a 2001 because this Single tone T-Bolt has a 6 port rotor in it. Very interesting

I've never seen a siren turn that fast!

Interesting thing about this Tbolt; it's turning counterclockwise.

Until seeing some videos in recent months, I thought that was standard for Tbolts. The ones we had here in Nashville rotated counterclockwise.

Last Tbolt test I witnessed was one in Marietta, GA back in early 90s. It also turned counterclockwise.

However, all the ones I've seen in videos from this site and youtube rotated clockwise.

Thunderbolts have a 3-speed rotator. If I remember right, it had 4, 8, and 12rpm settings. The 3-phase ones can also be reversed by reversing two of the current legs.
