Wow, and this community has been pondering this concept for, what, at least a few years now? Never thought I'd see the day. See, the guys at Federal DO value our opinions.

I wonder whether the new design has the Eclipse's rotor or one the size of a Model 3's, or whether they're already the same size (it seems like they are).
Who wants a lower pitch Eclipse 8?
I do!

I brought up with that animator on Youtube that first revealed the Equinox that Federal's current sirens suck and that the Equinox is the step in the right direction. I also said that Federal should make some really memorable sirens that can be made today (I mentioned the Sentry 40v2t is the most memorable siren still being made) and he responded that I will "love the new products that Federal Signal will be releasing." Who knows what else will be released by Federal? I can't wait to see.

I would not like a 12 port Eclipse - 8. I hate single tone 12 port sirens.
What happened when Napoleon went to Mt. Olive? Popeye got pissed.

I think it's a bit telling that this has a new name (Equinox) rather than just being called something like "2001L."

I'm not sure there could be much more really, they've got a compplete line of sirens right now. I dunno, maybe a rotating electronic siren? I doubt it.

However, the Eclipse and Equinox names for censecutive releases make me wonder if they'll have a pattern of E names in the future.

I wonder what makes it 7 inches taller than a 2001-130? Larger horn?

I'd like to see a new version of the 10/12 500AT.

I'm guessing that the jumbo version of the Equinox will be called the "Equalizer"?

I'm excited about the new FS Equinox. I think it is great compromise to most of our wanting the 2001 leither replaced or lowered. Even though the DB level drops by 4 (which i think is more like 2) it is kind of made up for by the low pitch and how it carries. I wonder if it is cheaper than the 2001-130. Hopefully whenever my city gets around to finishing its siren update they will get some of these.
