I found a photo taken in December 1961 that clearly shows the Hurt Building Mobil-Directo, as Crazywarriorman proved.

Probably didn't see it at first glance...

Thanks!

I found a photo taken in 1972 near Peachtree & 26th. I am pretty positive the Coach & 6 MD is in this picture

Image

EDIT: Here is a shot from 1961 that Shows the Hurt Building (V shaped building on the far right), You can see a Mobil-Directo on the corner of the part that extends from the roof.

This isn't a siren, but it's interesting.

Notice anything familiar in the background?

Here is a 1956 photo of the Fox Theatre, but there is a Darley variant in the background.

Look near the back of the building farthest from camera.

EDIT: Here is an early 60's? image taken from Decatur St. It shows the Hurt Building MD, which is pointed towards the camera. The Hurt Building is in the center of the picture

That may be the building. The MD was hard to see if looking at the building head on; it was on back side of the building. If I recall correctly..and this is the building..the siren was easier to spot if one was heading S on Peachtree.

Tell me about it...

EDIT: A couple more Noland MD pics.

(1965) You can clearly see the MD.
Image
(1967) You can see the siren in front of a building.

I find it odd that most of the images have MD's in them and only one has a Thunderbolt...
I love the picture of the MD at night, it looks so scary and mean. If those went off in the middle of the night I would probable s*** my pants! lol
