Yet there was nothing wrong with the Hurricane.

That makes me wonder why they replaced the 20V2T in Allen. That siren is virtually maintenance friendly.

What do you mean one of them? There was only one I thought.

No they had several Hurricanes, and quite a few of the ATIs were mounted right on the old steel poles that the former Hurricanes were. They even had the mounting flange and blower frame still attached. Best I know, Garland had an exclusively-ACA system before the ATIs were installed, consisting of Hurricanes, P-10s, and at least one rotating Allertronic. The Allertronic and one of the P-10s were left in service when they replaced the old system, and retrofitted with ATI RTU controllers to be compatible with the new activation system, but those two have now been replaced with the current new Whelen system.

Here's one of the ATI installations on one of the former Hurricane poles; note the old blower mount: http://goo.gl/maps/kwyR2
Yet another former Hurricane installation, with an ATI installed on the old pole; note the blower mount and flange: http://goo.gl/maps/5cl4X
P-10 that was left in service: http://goo.gl/maps/CSWiI
Rotating Allertronic that was left in service: http://goo.gl/maps/YztFB

I think to the Garland city yard. I don't know where they are at now. Here are some pictures on this site featuring the Garland Hurricanes: http://www.freewebs.com/mike_nelson/images.htm
This is NOT my site.

EDIT: It says on http://www.civildefensemuseum.com that they were sold at auction in late 2004.
