Well apparently MCPs don't work very well in 33 deg. weather. BTW not my video.

Cool fast wail! Chicago runs fast wail on the Wrigley Field Mod which uses MCP controllers.

I know fast wail to me is creepy and cool at the same time, but back on the video that MCP looks like it doesn't function very well in cold and wet weather.

I guess its only a problem with that MCP since Chicago has run MCP through harsh and cold winters and they still sound.

One other reason why they were not very reliable is because they were a fairly new technology at the time for Federal. It's like anything, you try something, it doesn't work, you improve it. These are starting to become rare. Bolingbrook Illinois had a whole slew of these up until a couple years ago. Since then, they have done a wholesale replacement of all the old EOWS sirens. The ACA Alertronics are still up though.

Here's the thing, Federal didn't improve it, it stayed the same the whole time it was in production other than it getting new control panels later in production, then the Modulator came out and Federal put the EOWS down for "Special Order" then about a year later the EOWS was removed from production for good and still with no improvements. If you would've asked me I would keep it along with the Modulator and improve it and make something like the EOWS II then later the Modulator II then boom two great electric siren series are for sale, that's a win/win with keeping a nice siren in production and making more money for the company. You know what I mean? It's a perfect idea.

WPS-4000 series; that's the inside of the rotor assembly.
