This is true about Japan. Depending on what part of the country you live in and on which islands, your line frequency will be one or the other. It dates to the earliest days of electricity, when a generator was purchased from Germany for a power station. Later, in another part of Japan, they built a power plant with American generators.

That siren in Germany is a Fedelcode Model 2. Around a month ago a member on the board purchased 2 of these sirens and to everyone's surprise they turned out to be model 2's. It makes sense; it is way to small to be a model 3 and the louvers are way to close to each other. The motor is universal so it would work on the 220V 50Hz in Germany and still maintain that "10" port sound.

I don't know about that. Listen to the wind up. It sound just like a Model 5/12 port siren.

It doesn't sound like a 2 to me; I has the windup of a 3 phase siren. Math time, look at my attachment.

Since, um...always? Need to get Bryan to post a picture of the housing for his Model 3, it looks identical to the one in the OP video except his is yellow and not as nice and straight.
