May have a "pick of the lot" on Thunderbolts

I didn't know sirens could run without control boxes.

That's how I got my thunderbolt to growl. I just took an ext cord without the female end, Some quick disconnects and a surge protector and turned it on and she growled up. I think if you have a single phase blower it can be run the same way? But idk... I know a gas motor works

My thunderbolt does have a control box. BUT all the wires were stripped and cut and it's a 3 phase 220. If I wanted to hear it through the box I would have to find a heavy duty power supply. The unfortunate part to that is that Oregon is a little touchy on testing sirens near buildings and houses on full blast. So I have to find a gas powered or single ph. blower motor, a generator and I have to either haul it to the boondocks or somewhere that uses sirens. (Which is still pretty far from me.) I don't think portable generators have that much power and if they did I would most likely have to pay through the nose for them. So at the time of this comment the controls are a 70 pound decoration. That could and most likely will change in the future.

I am thinking first you should study hard, get good grades in middle school and high school and concentrate on finding a good job. I don't want to be the board troll, but what is a 12 year old going to do with an 800 pound siren? If you study hard, and get youself a good job you could pick up whatever siren your heart desires... even get the controls and hook it up like Charlie Davidson did (he is a shining star).

While this may be true, you would never want to permanently install it without the controls. The controls have all sorts of trips in them if something were to go wrong, and if it were to continue running, it would probably do some damage. And this might depend on location, but there is a certain code that is required for electrical wiring.
