Also found a siren on top of Sterling Hall on the UW Campus. I find that interesting because this building was bombed in the '60s as part of a Vietnam War protest. I'm kind of new at this, anyone know what kind of siren this is? Is it an early 2001?

Judging by the logo, it looks like a 2001 SRN (2nd or 3rd generation).

Siren is most likely a 2001 SRN as PugetStormWatch PugetSoundStormWatch said.

I agree with the above, but there is also a chance that it could be an early 2001-SRNB as it looks like the rotator is a belt-less "cube" rotator.

I would have to say, even from this angle I think the box looks like the older Thunderbolt model. So an SRN is probably our culprit. I'll ask eventually on the Dane County EMA, but I don't know if they keep track of the exact models of their 2001 units.

Thank you so much for this picture, this is one of the few I was sure I'd never get to see.

I took a video of the spin-up today. Unfortunately I had to run to class, but someday I'll record the full cycle. That thing was LOUD.

Yeah that is either a 3rd or 4th gen 2001-SRN (for those wondering there is actually a small difference between the 3rd and 4th) dpending on wether or not it has the 2001:DC sticker or not. (3rd does, 4th does not) Also the roatator box just looks a tad big to be an -SRNB.

You should also get one of the EOWS sirens if you can. There is both 612's and 1212's. There is a 612 by Sherman Middle School and there's a 1212 on the intersection of Northport and Troy a mile north of the 612. I dont know about those but some of those other sirens are currently being replaced. The sirens that are about to be replaced is the ones I'd get.
