The Most Unusual Looking Sirens

I would have to say that the Allertor is the most unusual looking siren.

I've only seen/heard clips of them on internet sites. However, the city of Atlanta used to have a number of these. I believe they were still gasoline powered, even in the 70s.

There was a red one atop the Hurt Building downtown; it was nicknamed "Big Myrtle." I know that Big Myrtle was taken down many years ago.

I think Modulators look like flying saucers stacked atop each other.

Never seen a Darley for real, so I can't comment on them.

Speaking of a gasoline powered Allertor, I would be very cool to take an allertor with a broken electric motor and strap and old Harley Davidson V twin engine to it since both companies are located in the same town. It should then be installed in front of the Harley plant there, that would be very cool!

About a 2t22, I've even heard people ask,"What is that ugly weird yellow thing."

Why even consider electronic sirens?
They are either exponential speaker horns or arrays which form an exponential channel. Nothing interesting about them.

I would have to say the Allertor was the strangest looking siren ever made. IMHO, ACA must have worked with Dr. Suess in the 1950s, as their products look like they are straight out of "Whoville." However, they sound great!

Yes, the denver and that yellow thing are both very neat sirens! I would love to go see the yellow thing and ask a few questions to the owners.

I would say pretty much any ACA product from the 50's 60's, and 70's. They all make the uninformed go, "what the hell is that?"

I would say practically the entire ACA/ASC lineup from the 40's up to the present, which include the pill shaped Allertor, spaceship shaped Banshee, oil drum shaped P-50, patio-heater shaped Screamer, ominous looking Hurricane, stacked cookie shape of the I-Force, & flower faced Tempest and RM-130 rotating sirens.

I have always thought that sirens such as the Model 2, look like landscape lights that are found along walkpaths.
