No, it's the fan used to cool the motor.

The damper is in the box at the bottom of the siren unit. I would assume it works like the 3T22 damper.

From what I can tell, I've always assumed the red deal inside the caged area is the actual valve. It looks as if the red vanes close blocking the sound. I believe the siren motor is actually incased in that box at the bottom. I'd love to see the inside of one, as it seems like a one-of-a-kind setup. The Banshees that had them seem to have the more common setup like the 3T22.

Here is a CAD I drew up showing the Screamer 105's profile. I left the mesh screening off so it was easier to understand where the motor wiring goes.

On the intake pipe you can see the damper plate's mounting bolts and bushing. The actual solenoid's housing is conjoined off to the side.
It is not too different from a Banshee 110 or 3T22. The small wiring box joins the motor and solenoid feeds to the control box.

ACA really liked the yellow/red color scheme in the early years. This was dropped by 1973. I think it looks nice and sharp, but others might be reminded of McDonald's rather than Civil Defense and fire services.

Are any of the Screamer's in Dodge County 105's? I know Neosho is not as that one is a dual toned S-10 but the other 4 (Lomira, Kekoskee, Lebanon, and Lowell) are single toned so is any one of those 105's?

Dodge County had many single tone Screamers however they were all post-1973 productions models. I believe they were all 7.5 horsepower, putting out around 110 decibels. The one exception was Neosho's which is dual tone 10 horsepower.

The two Screamers in Kekoskee and Lebanon were painted deep red while the others were yellow. Apparently the one in Lebanon was replaced with an STH-10 in recent years. I don't know how many of the others are still in service.

There is also an old single tone Banshee 110 in Lomira, Wisconsin. This is an older pre-1973 model so it's a bit different compared to the later Banshees seen in Mayville and Juneau. It was re-mounted on a pole once they took away the old garage and tower it originally sat upon.
