1 more thing, the 812 isn't tied with the 4008
EDIT: So remove the fact it is the loudest electronic siren, because it isn't XD

Was the EOWS 115 ever part of the Siratone series?

Think so. I believe they were the first to be built. The stats that I've seen about them say that they are louder than the 1212 which was, like what Vey198885 said, the 115's successor. The EOWS 115 was, I believe 118 dB at 100 feet.

There were actually two types of EOWS-1212's. The first ones made looked identical to the 115, and I know that they were installed around the now coal-fired Zimmer power plant in Moscow, OH (It was originally going to be nuclear). I know at least one board member owns one, and AFAIK Clayton had some in his lot. A handful of them remain standing, either dormant, broken, or active. The later version is the 1212 we all know and love with the rounded speaker projectors.

Wow, the 812 was just 3 db shy of a P 50!
Want to bet money that DB rating is in-accurate?

Oh, absolutely. It says in that brochure from 1983 that the
408 was
126dB, thats 2dB louder than the 612 is supposed to be. I'd take a guess and say that the 812 was in the 126-128 range.
Has to be 130 dB. Some were 130 dB some weren't 130 dB. All depends on the speakers drivers.

What sort of nonsense is that? All these dB rating discrepancies are based on flawed and inconsistent measure. All the dB ratings in the catalog the early EOWS sirens are in are badly exaggerated.

Oh ok. Didn't know that. Sorry. That's what I thought. It was a marketing strategy.

Speaking of the Bay City, MI EOWS 812s, last year I went with my dad and step-mom to the USS Edson out there and happened to pass by one of them, with the 2001-B right next to it and took this picture.
I have no idea why they still have it up, because there were wires and conduit coming out of the ground from where the controls were clearly ripped from the pole.
