It was.

That Decatur siren is a Sentry 40V2T, I believe.

Nice pictures, your camera has a good zoom on it. I wish mine had a better zoom than 3.6X. I think my next camera will have at least 20x or 30x.

I want an Allertor from Fort Worth, but I hear the remaining ones are going to be scrapped with no hopes for sell. Damn them. :(

You are correct. Decatur has a system of 40V2T's and 20V2T's. I've counted 2 40V's and 4 20V's. I am assuming there is another siren out near Decatur Mun. so that brings out total to 7 sirens.

As for the camera, yes, I have been more than pleased with its performance. For being only 4 megapixel, and manufactured in 2003 (outdated by todays cameras) it works very well. It is the camera that brings you the siren videos I have posted on here/youtube.

It's a Kodak DX6490.

Damn, that T-112 looks small! I'm glad that the update went with ASC. Great picture of the Allertor, as well. Great array of sirens.

WOW! I had no idea T-112s were so tiny. According to ASC's website, they're only 36" tall! :o

You should try and get a recording of Decatur's Sentry sirens.

This morning I had just a tad bit more time to get a couple pics of sirens before I had to leave.

Seymour has 5 or so sirens. The only remotely interesting siren was this. I call it Sentry at Sunrise.

Image

Next up was Benjamin/Knox County. It is very rare to have the EM run on the county level in Texas, but it does exist. Also, rarely do you see sirens at county establishments.

Banshee.

Image

Behind the Knox County Courts building is the VFD for Benjamin. They have a Federal Lion and a Model L. (note the banshee in the bg.) I think both sirens are in active use.

Image

Knox has this 5 or 7...I'm assuming it's a seven due to the size? No idea.

and just around the corner in Obrien was this model D. It covers all two of Obrien's structures suffieciently I'm sure.

And now some pictures of non siren related material, but one of the reasons W. Texas is cool, apart from the weather.

Ahh, I wish I could get a hold of a Banshee that looks exactly like those. My father likes the hole "Cowboy/Western" genre and ever since I showed him this siren he's wanted to have one for a restoration project. This is of course, because this particular model Banshee looks like two cowboy hats.

Awesome photos, pup.

Hey, did you happen to drive thru Stamford? They got some new electronics, Whelens, I believe. I haven't been there since they got them. I was hoping to get their old Thunderbolt.
