The Siren Board

Yeah, if you don't have facebook, you need it. It's the coolest thing ever. IMing, and keeping up with what's going on is really cool. I've talked to people I haven't seen in years!
I was a skeptic too, until my sister basically forced me to join !

Has anyone created a siren enthusiasts group on Facebook yet? I haven't searched but would gladly create one or join one if it already exists

There is a Facebook siren group but I don't remember what it is called. Adam Pollak knows since he is a member.

It's a social networking site, so you have to log in to see pictures. They are evil. I deleted mine not long ago after having it up a few years.

Well, I found myself in a january thaw today, and I got to take care of my friend's golden lab, so I was outside a lot. So then this happened.
I decided to dig out the thunderbolt horn, and I bolted it up to the chopper, just for the hell of it. OMGWTFBBQ!!!
That little bastard has one hell of a bark to it! I revved it up a little outside, and then had a stroke of intelligence, and ran it up
inside my garage, so the neighbors couldn't hear (much)
The difference that horn makes, even without the blower, is amazing. It has a deep sound to it, then gets this bite, it sounds almost like a trumpet at high RPM. BTW, I got my vacuum blower painted and retrofitted for pressure duty. We'll be having fun in a little bit!!
The funny part was the fact that it didn't phase Norman (the lab) or my two dogs one bit!

So yesterday I got another bright idea! I bolted up the horn again, but then put the chopper tube on top of the motor, and sealed it up, then attached the shop vac hose to it, and ran up some pressure. I hit the chopper for about 2 seconds, and found that this little beast is no longer the fun little toy I played with in my garage a month ago.
The sound levels this monster kicks out are dangerous!! It literally vibrated itself into the snow bank I had the horn resting on, and broke all the ice in the horn loose. Every screw I had holding it together went "pop" as I took it out due to being positively seated from the vibration. I had hearing protection on, and it still rattled my chest. I had the whole assembly upside-down, and I was sitting on top of the chopper tube to keep the vacuum-blower pipe in place.
I am gonna have a fun summer...

Try putting three shop vacs or leaf blowers on a manifold and see what that does. Should make your neighbors more "sociable".
