Just this weekend, viewed a Whelen at Appalachian State U, Boone NC. Didn't get a chance for pic tho. I think they've got 3; Farthing Hall, (spelling?), Sanford residence hall, & bell tower.

that's definitely a whelen 2909.... i can tell because of the type 3 cabinet... or it could be a whelen 2809 with an updated control system (type 3)

I know its hard to tell but that's definitely a Mod. Note the massive speaker array, the white color, the discs, and the shadow of the Fed style control boxes.

Oh, sorry; I lost track of this thread. The Federal Modulator, at Meredith College in Raleigh, that was installed by Radio Commun. Comp;

As for the Whelen, and Appalachian State in Boone, I don't know who installed it.
