I'd like to know where all those 10/15 Decot sirens with Model 5-style covers went that were installed all over Seattle. Apparently Portland also had these Decots, as well as a Chrysler or two and 50 sets of pre-WWII Buell air horns. All are gone now.

Those might have been shipped out to local towns around Seattle. Look on the Siren archive. Those Decots appear in other towns. Dunno about the others.

One of the photos I've seen of those maybe-Decots in Seattle shows one being hoisted up a neighborhood telephone pole. That could have been taken on one of countless city streets. Finding it via the photo would be as easy as finding that Chrysler that was installed on a tower near Columbia City - a needle in a haystack (finding the other Chryslers' locations was easy because the specific locations were noted)

If anyone knows where these sirens might have gone up, I'm in Seattle and I can and will hunt down locations and check. I can imagine a few of these being left up on their poles, if they were indeed attached high on telephone poles. The street shown looks just like a million others in Seattle.

Around here, the only sirens I ever see are on fire stations, and only on older ones. I know of one, possibly two, sirens on old fire stations in my suburb, Renton - one near Bryn Mawr Elementary (may have been removed, was there when I attended school) and one in Allentown, near Tukwila.

The Seattle Public Archives website has many photos and addresses of siren installations.

The only addresses or locations I can find are...
Chryslers (noted above):
Police garage - demolished.
Seattle City Light - siren gone
Georgetown Steam - siren gone
Washington Athletic Club - status unknow, looking into it
Phinney Ridge - intact, cosmetically restored
Northacres Park - intact, so shows Google Maps, condition unknown, plan to visit
"Above Rainier, south of Columbia City" - this will be difficult, but looking into it. That entire area is houses now, but the Chryslers were active into the 70s or possibly 80s, so there's a fair chance it's still there

As to that photo, the location is 11th NE and 41st. That's by the University, a perfect spot for even a smaller siren. And I DO know that street - it looks nothing like the photo now, and there are no telephone poles left at all.

Here's a shot of the Northacres Park tower. Can't tell if the Chrysler is still on it, though.

Yes, it's still on the tower. I went on Live Maps as well and you can see the siren end and part of the power unit too.

Ditto. I can see the end of the horn section from the photo...
