I just looked at the Current street view for Gibson, and I thing it's the end for this siren. I looked down the road and long behold, a Whelen Vortex down at the community center a block or 2 from there. :vortex:

That Whelen has been there at least 8 years. My guess is that the Soundmaster will be left up there as it's not worth the expense to remove.

I might go down there this weekend and see if it's still up.

I just looked at all of the street views, and sadly it is facing the same direction from 2009 to 2014. It might just be a broken rotator though.

Okay I'm just going to ask this apparently earth shattering question... What's the significance of this find?

These are pretty rare and finding one that hasn't been modified is hard.

I was thinking a Carter siren would be a 10/12 like an xT22.
Same. Well, maybe not 10/12, but nonetheless kind of like a xt22. The xt22 IMO is a Carter, but has horns, intake tubes, a cone on one end, mounted upright, and has solenoids (3t22).

Quickie FYI: UK 10/12 port sirens are 2800 RPM, as they work on 50 hertz power. And UK siren systems are comprised of mostly 10/12 Castle Castings/Carter's/Gent's

No, they are 2 completely different sirens.
