Looks more like a single headed Sterling.
Just because you're offended, doesn't mean you're right.

If you look at it from a distance, it looks like an Allertor without the horn. Why someone would put it like that, I have no idea.
Kicking it in the siren party since '08

I agree, if I looked from different views, and I think the same thing.
Resident of a county with big a mixture of sirens, but in the process of being replaced. :(

My word, look at the number of ports on that thing! I'm guessing it's a 20/24 siren, made to resemble the ratio of a British model, except higher-pitched. It's located in Chatham-Kent, too, not too far from me!

Can you email the fire dept and see if it still operates?

I have no idea as to the contact info on the department itself, but I definitely gotta drive down there sometime to see it! It looks like it's on a pole, so getting some undershots seems possible, except for the risk of trespassing.

I'll contact them, . After posting that you should I realized that I have email too. If you could get out to it maybe you could video it in action permitting it still sounds?

If I had a car, it would be top of my agenda to spend $30 on gas and drive two hours to video it.

A while ago I posted in some thread info on sirens I've seen around southern Ontario. This one looks oddly familiar to one I seen near Port Colborne in Regional Niagara years ago.

Congratulations. You have apparently found one of the rarest Gents/Carter models. It was a very large siren with a low-RPM motor and 20/24 ports. It would sound just like a 10/12 model. Remember that Canada imported sirens from England during the war and copied them afterward. This is probably an original English model. Since North America uses a 60 Hz. supply, this will most likely sound something like a 2T22.
