I encourage all to leave a comment on this article. I just put my two cents in.

I have an announcement!!!!!!!!!! Hamilton County Commissioners at 7:00pm May 3rd 2010 Took the recommendation of Hamilton County EMA to award bid #031-10 for outdoor warning system and related equipment to American Signal Corporation for the amount of $1,048,407.59. EMA will add 26 sirens to areas with no coverage 140 sirens will be replaced and 64 upgraded. I think we have won the war. Thanks to everyone here on the board who helped with this we could not have done it without you. All we have to hope for now is that Federal does not try to fight this and cause delays.

Bids are supposed to be

Responsive Whatever specs there are, the proposal responds to them, and

Responsible The bidder is financially and technically able to do the work.

Those things shouldn't be an issue. OTOH, this bid will probably end up in court.
This was addressed and clarified at the meeting.

Jason, do you know if there will still be 2 voice sirens in downtown?

EDIT: I know the remaining Fernald EOWSs will be replaced, but to make sure, will the EOWS 115/1212 in Milford and the 4 Werden P-127s also be replaced?

Yes. Andy the 2 voice capable sirens are included. I'm assuming they will go with the I-Force models. 136 +2 is 138 + the 64 upgrades is 202 with the possibility of some old sirens staying. Not sure right now how it is going to go. Might be a little early to tell yet.

Very good news indeed! I almost wish there was a way to celebrate other than posting a message on an online forum ;) Something that involves Graeter's and LaRosa's. At least that's what I think.

That's great news!

Will anyone attempt to get some of the sirens that will be replaced?

I will be trying to get the White Oak 1000T in my video and maybe one of the very old 2001s in an attempt to maybe modify it.. Not sure yet.
