Does anyone know if Hamilton County tested? Nothing happening at UC. I could hear Northern Kentucky.

OFFICIAL UPDATE: Hamilton County E.M.A. went to the 911 center to set the sirens off manually and by zones and some zones may not have activated. Please respond if you were in Hamilton County and did or did not hear any sirens. By the way the old EMA staff is no longer with us and the new guys are serious about the system and are fantastic to work with.

I was just about to say, I responded to a post reminding about the test on the EMA's Facebook page, and the person told me pretty much the same thing. I certainly didn't hear any of the sirens around UC.

It appears to me that these sirens didn't sound:

T-128 next to the old Clifton School.

:TBolt: on top of Circle Ave fire station, which I believe is still active, as well as the nearby T-128.

T-128 at Galbraith & Winton Roads in Finneytown.

:2001: in North College Hill where my mom works, and said she didn't hear it.

Sorry to triple post, but the EMA did have another post on their Facebook page about the test outcome, and included a link to their updated website.

Take a look at their page about the sirens. Now, when there is a tornado warning, they will sound the sirens for 3 minutes, keep them silent for 7 minutes, and continue the cycle until the warning is cancelled.

Here's a link to the official explanation on their Facebook page:

https://www.facebook.com/hamilton.count ... 0852302088
In our continued effort to make sure our warning systems are functioning properly for Hamilton County, we initiated the test from an alternate location in the county to set off the outdoor warning sirens. In the process, we discovered a gap at the location and the sirens did not sound for the test today.

We apologize for the inconvenience and are diligently working on finding viable solutions.

This also highlights our continued efforts to test and exercise our systems, plans and protocols in the County. By identifying these gaps in our warning systems BEFORE an emergency, we are able to enhance our preparedness.

To learn more about our warning systems in Hamilton County, please visit our website: www.hamiltoncountyohioema.org

Thank you.

And this is why regular audible tests on and from all mission critical equipment is essential. Hamilton County is doing just the right thing here.

Like I said this new staff at E.M.A. are the real deal. They are making their list, and checking it twice to see which sirens were naughty or nice. Seriously these guys are drudging through all the crap that the last incompetent staff left them to clean up. By the time tornado season comes around the system will be 100% operational.

Is the replacement of that old H.O.R still gonna go through? Did it already?

The T-128 at 3360 West Galbraith did not sound on Wednesday.
