That might have something to do with it. However, from a business point of view, price is largely determined by value and availability. This is difficult to determine since there is no set value of any particular used siren. With the "B" series Thunderbolt I can understand the prices for parts being higher since they aren't very abundant. However, with 90+ sirens in storage (the majority of which being "A" and "C" series Thunderbolts), I don't see where they are deriving their higher prices on the rest of their sirens.
