Need help bring a Sterling M-10 back into service.

Adding my .2 I agree that the model 5 should probably be a priority especially since they have a bit more bite (Especially on the 5Ts) and don't require precision to avoid breaking something. The 5T you can pretty much hammer out.

I'm in agreement you there, the Sterling is going to need some work. The rotors are seized up, and the the covers are bad rusted. But we have been given access to both sirens, we are going to get the Sterling going for the top of the station. Then go through the 5T, and use it right where it's at.

Well we got all the covers off, and found out its actually a M5. We put some penetrating oil on the choppers, and with some slight pressure with a pry bar, it's turning free!

Yea that actually looks decent. Good to hear it's turning freely!!!! Now to check the motor insulation, the windings, make sure none of the wires are frayed or going to cause unwanted arc that could set something on fire etc... etc... Lol nah I ain't a siren expert...

Take the rotors to a machine shop and have them turned if they are rubbing anywhere.

Very good, a 16 Port Sterling... one of my favorites.. they make very good noise and have a sound all of their own. The 5T is cool too and will make a nice satellite siren, it appears I am the only who noticed that there is a Freightliner FL60 tanker in the background...we will also accept pictures of that.. just saying is all LOL

Nope. I noticed it. Just more of a Pete fan myself. My phone picture below is a 2010 389 at the Coopersville Car show. The girl in the picture is Erin..you could say with any luck ill be married to her some day. Anyways enough rambling. The 389 next to it had pennysfor storage compartment floors.

I will try to get a few more the next time I'm down there, I will be starting driving training soon. In the mean time, here's some pictures of the Sterling coming down. And what's going to be the best way to clean the 51 years of dust out of the motor? Flush with water? Or electronics cleaner? And what oil do we need to put in the oil cups? I can't seam to find any instruction manual for it anywhere.
